CfP: AHCT Sponsored Sessions at RSA March 2027

The AHCT invites proposals for the sessions it sponsors at the annual conference of the Renaissance Society of America, in Philadelphia, from 11 to 13 March 2027.

What we are looking for

Proposals should sit within the mission of the AHCT, which centers on the performance of the theater of the Spanish Golden Age. Among the approaches we welcome:

  • Production, direction and adaptation.
  • Translation.
  • Traditional literary approaches.
  • Interdisciplinary readings of the comedia.

We will consider panels of three or four people, roundtables of four to eight, and individual papers.

What a proposal has to contain

Send everything in a Word document. RSA standards require all of the following:

  • Title of the panel or roundtable, where there is one, in no more than 15 words.
  • Abstract for the panel or roundtable, where there is one, of about 150 words.
  • Title of each paper, in no more than 15 words.
  • Abstract for each paper, of about 150 words.
  • Thematic area or keywords, for example performance space, marginalised groups, violence, adaptation, dramaturgas, historical.
  • Names of everyone involved, with current affiliations and email addresses.
  • A brief CV for each participant, stating the date of the PhD or the expected date.
