English Translations

AHCT also offers English translations of a number of early modern Spanish plays. Like the Spanish texts, they are made freely available for academic and other legitimate purposes. If you would like to stage a production based on one of these translations, please contact AHCT first.

The translations gathered here were prepared by scholars and theater practitioners, among them Vern G. Williamsen, Kenneth A. Stackhouse, Matthew D. Stroud and Dakin Matthews. Each play opens in the same viewer as the Spanish texts and can be downloaded as a PDF.
