The AHCT Annual Spanish Golden Age Theater Symposium takes place on the UCLA campus from 17 to 19 September 2026, alongside LA Escena, the Los Angeles festival of Hispanic classical theater.
Sessions are in Rolfe and Royce halls. Presenters must be members of the AHCT.

The Hesse Grant
For graduate students: a year of membership, registration and a travel stipend.
For nearly forty years the AHCT supported performances of early modern Spanish plays at the Chamizal International Siglo de Oro Drama Festival, held every year at the Chamizal National Memorial in El Paso, Texas, from 1979 to 2019. The festival was discontinued in 2020 and has not revived.
The association now pursues the same mission by supporting the festivals and companies that stage these plays elsewhere, in Spanish and in translation, and in ways that reach new audiences. This year that means UCLA, and the Diversifying the Classics project, and LA Escena.
