The Franklin Smith Comedia Translation Prize

Awarded to an outstanding translation into English for performance of a Golden Age play. This prize is intended to encourage the continued translation of the great corpus of comedias and other works of Hispanic classical theater for an English-speaking audience. The prize, which consists of a certificate and recognition on the AHCT website and conference program, will be presented to the winning author at the association’s annual symposium. Publishers may enter more than one title, but no work may be entered in more than one AHCT competition.
